Kaffa Exchange needed an illustration to accompany an article about the true story of getting life-saving insulin from California to a young woman in a remote, conflict-ridden area in Ethiopia. Actual photos of the people involved would put their lives in danger. To tell the story, they needed a powerful graphic specific to Ethiopia, the region, and diabetes that they could use for the article and social media.

Kaffa Exchange is an NGO providing life-saving diabetes-related supplies to children with Type 1 Diabetes in Ethiopia. They also produce educational materials translated to Amharic (the official language of Ethiopia) including the translation of Dr. Santosh Gupta’s book, Living the Sweet Life with Diabetes.
